Maple Bear Chander Nagar, India leads the way with innovative school design

Posted in Global Family / School Owners on Thursday, November 16th, 2017

As education systems and the learning landscape are changing to reflect modern values, so too is the design of physical schools spaces shifting.

Maple Bear Chander Nagar is at the forefront of this shift with its unique architectural design which challenges the idea of a conventionally designed preschool. The contemporary building design, which has received accolades in the architectural sector, symbolizes the departure from the rigid confines of traditional education towards a more multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to learning—which reflects Maple Bear’s methodology well.

“The intense design of Maple Bear Chander Nagar forces reaction out of young children, leaving lasting impressions on not only the kids but also on their parents,” says school owner Nirmal Jain. “Just the right dash of colours and volume to the architecture helps in attracting the minds of the little ones and stimulates energy in them.”

The newly renovated school—with its bold, eye-popping colours–provide a visually stimulating and dynamic learning environment for students. Rooms are open spaces creating a flexible layout that can transition easily between different functions. There is also a thoughtful emphasis on inviting details like the reading nooks between classrooms, the sculpted play terrain, and impromptu seating areas scattered throughout the building. The layered Tetris block design elements on the exterior tie it together in a playful package.

This innovative space invites students to learn through exploration and experience, a core philosophy in the Maple Bear program.
