Maple Bear Opens School in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Maple Bear Global Schools is proud to announce the opening of Maple Bear Al Reef, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in September, 2019, This is the second Emirate for Maple Bear Globals Schools to have a presence in, with an existing preschool in Business Bay, Dubai and a new nursery in Al Safa, Dubai. The growing Maple Bear network now includes 423 schools in 20 countries.
The new nursery will enroll infants from twelve months of age to toddlers four years of age, and is the first of three Maple Bear schools to be opened in partnership with Abu Dhabi based Al Beed Group. Al Beed is an ideal partner for Maple Bear, as the Group already has two primary and secondary schools in Abu Dhabi, offering Canadian curriculum options. This new partnership with Maple Bear represents Al Beed’s continued confidence in the strength of the Canadian system for high quality, modern education for the UAE’s future generations.
The Al Reef neighbourhood is a unique area situated just outside of the main island of Abu Dhabi, and is one of the preferred areas for expatriate families living in the UAE’s capital. The absence of a high quality, early childhood education and care option within the community was recognized as a gap that a Maple Bear nursery would be well suited to fill.
The new Maple Bear purpose-built facility features large, bright classrooms, a unique role play and free play area, as well as an indoor play structure, allowing for plenty of gross motor play even during the hottest months in the desert climate! The nursery is being headed by a Canadian expat with years of early childhood leadership experience, who is fluent in English, French, and Arabic. All Maple Bear UAE teachers are also fluent in and have native command of the languages taught.
“The UAE market is in prime condition for more Maple Bear schools at all levels of the education system”, states Saurabh Narain, Managing Director for Maple Bear Gulf Schools. “Parents today are demanding high quality and value for money more than ever before, and pressure is being placed at the highest levels of government to not only improve the quality of the UAE education system, but to ensure student performance is at par with that of their counterparts in the leading systems of the world.”
“Canadian education has an excellent reputation in the UAE,” says Rodney Briggs, President and CEO of Maple Bear Global Schools. “Canada continues to be viewed as a modern, developed country that ranks extremely high in the OECD’s PISA rankings because of our excellent education system.”
Welcome to the Maple Bear family!
